PCOS impacts every woman including Australian First Nations women. As an artist I, Renée Tighe, suffer from PCOS which has many impacts including; fertility.
Traditionally, womanhood and the roles women play in tribes and clans are interconnected with fertility. Through the direct impact of dispossession and colonisation, the survival of our race is organically connected fertility and childbirth.
PCOS is a challenge one in six First Nations women faces within Australia.
